Saturday, hopfully a busy one

Well it has dawned a cool but beautiful day out here on the farm, apparently we have a lot happening this weekend so I am looking forward to a bit of social engagement or as Jason would call it mindless gossiping.

Still good news about Pop, we dropped him off at Sandy’s yesterday and she said he has been real “chipper”, so much so he got up early hopped into Bears old car and took himself off shopping, one day out of hospital; grrrrr.

Sandy’s friend Linda is bringing Sandy and Pop out for the day, so we are really looking forward to seeing them here.

We had a really shakey arrival here yesterday, Jason and I went down to the river in the afternoon and while we were there we had a 4.9 earthquake, we actually saw the river vibrating and shaking, following that one there were 2 or 3 others but not quite as strong.

Last night Jason took us into the closest large town which is Rangiora; we wondered the few shops open, had dinner in town and then came home loaded with DVD’s for the girls. While we were there we picked up Kyle and Kelly so we came home with a very full car load of people.

This morning Jason and Kyle are working on the sheep, while I do some baking and cooking, the girls are sprawled over the lounge watching TV, they have promised to do the vacuum cleaning “but yeah right mum get real”.
Speedi and Paula are due anytime, I have had a call from Paula and she is at the airport waiting for Speedi, I had hoped Mal might be coming but he has family issues back in the states so he has flown back home.

I have not seen much of Bear, I know he has a lot of “stuff” arriving today and he has had people over at the nursery yesterday discussing things, he is quite a different man now; much more motivated but as he would say he is “poorer than a church mouse”.
Despite that his bargaining and negotiating skills are doing him well in his trading and swapping things.

Well my orange cake is due out of the oven so I best go and do the domestic thing.

Take care all
Love you and stay safe and warm.
