snow day

Well it’s been fun but cold day.
I was sent home this morning from work due to the heavy snowfalls, so I had a day off with Bear and the Girls. It’s been a great family day in front of the fire; we played Monopoly and told tall tales. Well actually bear told the tall tales and the girls loved them, now he has to tell them all over again and bed time.
Later in the day we went round to Pops lady friends place and had coffee there, but we left early because the snow started coming down heavy once more.

My garden looks like it’s done its late growth period; well it would like that under 6 inches or so of snow.
I have brought my art stuff out into the lounge tonight and I have been having a night of art practice. Bear has been talking to the girls, and the girls have been pestering Toffy Bears dog, not that Toffy is objecting; he is in the automatic "on my back position".

The girls have been really good today we have two snow men and at one stage we nearly had three, when Bear went out and shook a branch laden with snow that was leaning on the power cables. Shaking the branches brought all the snow down on Bear and for a while we had the streets tallest snowman, but then he moved.
We have had snow fights, Im never sure how you know who wins or loses in those things because the winners seem as wet and cold as the losers.

We have just heard from one of Bear’s friend in Oxford tonight, Ewing has had an accident in the snow and isn’t too good. Bear is going to try and get out there tomorrow, assuming Ewing isn’t in Christchurch in hospital by then. We are not sure what happened but it sounds like he has had a car accident, will know more tomorrow.
Poor ole Bear is really upset as they are great friends and as he says at his age your list of old friends is ever diminishing, and his diminishes rather quickly.
Best of luck and all our love and prayers are with you Ewing and Jason and the kids, hang in there.
